The feeding of infants and young children has undergone a profound evolution both in the field of research and clinical application. The discoveries of the neurohormonal intracellular regulation processes of the intermediate metabolism alongside the epidemiological investigations on adulthood diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes and obesity tend to transfer in part to pediatricians the responsibilities of health and the lifespan of the adult.
The same diet in fetal life seems to affect, for example, in subjects with low weight for gestational age (EMS) or with fetal malnutrition, certain pathologies of adulthood (e.g. cardiovascular).
The Pediatric Dietology service includes a specialist visit to analyze the following aspects:
• Food education
• Food disorders
• Correct lifestyles
